Harnessing the growing consumer sector in African market was part of the main plenary session of the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) Summit 2012, with the theme ”Play a part in African growth story”. His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, from Ghana was the special guest speaker at the summit. In his keynote speech titled “Africa`s growth story- seen from Ghana” He highlighted the importance of the traditional ruler in maintaining a balance between rural population which constitute the bulk of the population in the continent and governance in Africa. The New Yam Festival was celebrated by the Igbos in Gothenburg, Sweden. “ Iri-ji Ohuru” meaning New Yam eating. It is a cultural and very important ceremony with strong identity among the Igbo people from Nigeria. Yam crop is the main harvest by the Igbo communities.
