Apparently Snoop Dogg is changing his name to Snoop Lion. This guy never cease to surprise. Snopp Lion will be releasing a reggae album “Reincarnated” later this year. During the press release he explained why the change of name. He explained that he has always been a Rastafarian. During the interview he also said that the spirits spoke to him and that’s why he traveled to Jamaica.

GOTHIA CUP 2012; SHARING THE AFRICANS EXPERIENCE

The world’s largest youth football tournament “Gothia Cup 2012” brought together different countries from all continents around the world. About 80 countries were present at the tournament out of which 8 countries represented the African continent. These countries were Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zambia.

From Lundazi district in Zambia to Gothia Cup in Sweden.

The Zasp Stars of Zambia for the category of boys 15 made their debut in Gothia Cup 2012 tournament, the largest youth football tournament in the world. Playing football with bare foot is never a problem with these kids who are faced with enormous challenges of both environmental and social problems, which ranges from lack of youth empowerments or lack of basic facilities and vulnerabilities to diseases.

Partille Cup 2012, Unite the world in Gothenburg.

Partille Cup, world largest handball youth tournament brought together thirty seven countries across all continents of the world to Gothenburg in Sweden. It is a yearly tournament that allows the youth across the world to meet their counterparts in the handball game for challenges, fun, and relaxation mood. Skandik Afrik crews followed the tournament and asked participants especially from the Africa continent what they feel about the game, the city of Gothenburg and the challenges they are facing in their home countries in developing handball among the youths. In Partille Cup 2012, there were only three African countries that participated in the tournament, which were, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Egypt.

CAMEROONIANS CELEBRATED GRAND CULTURAL EVENING.

The Association of Cameroonians in Göteborg (ASSOCABORG) celebrated rich cultural heritage during the Midsummer Eve 2012 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The celebration started in the evening with a traditional Njang dance from the Northwest region of Cameroon. This was closely followed by a dance from the Sawa people of Cameroon. There were also two masquerades from the Manyu and Grassland regions.

ERITREANS CELEBRATED INDEPEDENCE DAY IN SWEDEN

Eritreans living in Gothenburg celebrated their 21st independence anniversary in Kortedalavallen with a theme “Our independence is our pride”. The celebration started by four in the evening with a special welcome message to the thirty youths that just graduated from high school in 2012. Each of these students were called up to the stage and were asked to tell the audience the subject they read in high school and what their future plans were. Eritrean flag was given to them as a symbol of their heritage which they should be proud of in their life.
