Finding out about our history and others around us is the greatest discovery! This was what the Tanzanian Association in Denmark with the acronym “Tanden” started in 2007 with a few students and some Tanzanians living in Denmark. They aimed to unite and bring together all Tanzanians living in Denmark under the same umbrella. To give preferences to important issues pertaining to the Tanzanian national development like education, health, entrepreneurship, tourism, social welfare as well as encourage its members to contribute to the Danish society.

Nigerians in the Western part of Sweden (Västra Götaland County) which comprises of Gothenburg, Borås, Trollhättan and forty six other municipalities, had a town hall meeting with the Nigerian Ambassador to Scandinavian countries, Ambassador Benedict Amobi which was part of familiarity tour by the embassy to explain what the embassy is doing to improve the quality of services to the Nigerians in Scandinavian countries.

Harnessing the growing consumer sector in African market was part of the main plenary session of the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA) Summit 2012, with the theme ”Play a part in African growth story”. His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, from Ghana was the special guest speaker at the summit. In his keynote speech titled “Africa`s growth story- seen from Ghana” He highlighted the importance of the traditional ruler in maintaining a balance between rural population which constitute the bulk of the population in the continent and governance in Africa. He also uses the occasion to laud NABA as one of the few organizations that believe in the prospect of trade in Africa and wealth creation for economic growth and development rather than Aid or charity

The follow up of developmental plan by Nordost Utveckling for the people that live in the North eastern part of Gothenburg was further extended to the Kortedala area, in seminar on Business Development plan between Sweden and Africa. The objective of the seminar was to bring together established institutions and individual African entrepreneurs in this region to share their wealth of experiences through their presentation. Some of the main speakers at the seminar were Nnaji Consult, Småföretagarcentret in Rymtorget and Angered, Tidnäsverket in Bergsjön, Global Picnic and Skandik Afrik.
