All eyes were on Halmstad, Sweden on 28th April 2013 when African Market Place took place in the Library hall of the town with artists like Edo Bumba, Fatoumata Yayo, Sofi Hellborg, Connected Dreams, The Moniker, and around 200 children choir from Halland.

After successful cultural show in Frölunda Torg and in Avenue in Gothenburg last year 2012,African Market place festival is gaining momentum and moving to Halmstad this year with better cultural show, music, open market, crafts and different artists like Edo Bumba, Fotoumata Yayo, Sofi Hellborg, Connected dreams, Afrovikingz , Rebecca Dahlqvist, Steve Shungu, Stardis Dily Delight, Salieu Dibba,, Abdoulie Jobe, Per Johansson, Diasilua Nsumba, Clement Dicksson and around 200 children choir singers.

The New Yam Festival was celebrated by the Igbos in Gothenburg, Sweden. “ Iri-ji Ohuru” meaning New Yam eating. It is a cultural and very important ceremony with strong identity among the Igbo people from Nigeria. Yam crop is the main harvest by the Igbo communities. The Igbo´s are the third-largest ethnic group in Nigeria, who are predominantly in the South Eastern part of Nigeria in the West Coast of Africa with a population of about 30 million according to CIA World Factbook.

Gothenburg Cultural Festival 2012, an all-inclusive festival that happened between 14th-19th August 2012 was categorized into Music, Culture, Kid & Family, Activity and Sport, Drink and Market. It is an annual event that recognized the strength and the rich cultural offerings which makes Gothenburg an attractive city to live, work or visit. The Association of Cameroonians in Göteborg (ASSOCABORG) celebrated rich cultural heritage during the Midsummer Eve 2012 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The celebration started in the evening with a traditional Njang dance from the Northwest region of Cameroon. This was closely followed by a dance from the Sawa people of Cameroon. There were also two masquerades from the Manyu and Grassland regions.

Hammarkullen Carnival is the biggest and the most colorful cultural street carnival in Sweden.
